🕉️ Sindhi Rituals: Tipno, Aarti & Palav

Sindhi rituals are a deep expression of faith, unity, and cultural identity. Among the most meaningful traditions observed in Sindhi households and community events are Tipno, Aarti, and Palav. These rituals are more than just customs — they are a bridge between generations, keeping the spirit of Sindhiyat alive.

📅 Tipno (Sindhi Calendar)

Tipno is the traditional Sindhi calendar, followed to observe auspicious days, festivals, and spiritual milestones. It is based on the lunar cycle and is used to plan Cheti Chand (Jhulelal Jayanti), Satnarayan Katha, Ekadashi fasts, and other significant days. Each Tipno serves as a spiritual guide and a symbol of heritage in every Sindhi home.

🔥 Aarti

Aarti is a ritual of light performed during religious ceremonies to invoke blessings. In Sindhi culture, Aarti is performed during pujas, marriages, festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, and during the daily worship of Jhulelal Sain. The rhythmic clapping, sacred chants, and rotating of the diya symbolize the removal of darkness and negativity from life.

🙏 Palav

Palav is the act of offering a sacred cloth or shawl to Jhulelal or other deities while making a heartfelt prayer. It signifies surrender, gratitude, and the devotee’s connection with the divine. Palav is performed during Cheti Chand and Satyanarayan Katha, where community members seek blessings for health, happiness, and unity.

Together, Tipno, Aarti, and Palav form the spiritual rhythm of Sindhi life. They connect us to our roots and strengthen our bond with faith, family, and tradition.
